If you buy the Entertainment Book for the area you are visiting, you may be able to save lots (make sure to look up attractions as well as restaurants & shopping)! They are having a special where you get a FREE 2011 book when you reserve the 2012 book.

Airfare Watchdog is an awesome website for airfare prices. This site tracks airfare and really helps you save. You can sign up for the newsletter, which will alert you when there are low fares.
I also check out Kayak.com a lot to compare airfares.

If you're looking for a hot deal on somewhere to stay in the Caribbean, be sure to check out Cheap Caribbean. If you're up for a spontaneous trip, you may want to check out their last minute deals. They are also offering a promotion where kids get to stay and eat FREE at various resorts! Go here to check out the deals.
Overall, I have personally found that they offer the best prices on All-Inclusive trips.

If you like surprises, you can book a hotel through Priceline or Hotwire. While you will not know exactly which hotel you are staying at (until after you book it), you can choose which area you want to stay in and the best part is that you get to choose the price!
You can also choose how upscale (or low-scale!) you want! I have used this several times, and it's like a game for me to see how low I can get my high-quality hotel stay!

Did you know that Craigslist has a section that is devoted to Vacation Rentals? Look up the area you want to stay in and then search under the heading "Housing". While I have not personally stayed at a place from Craigslist, I have browsed it many times.
This could be a good option for a vacation on the cheap.

Lastly, I want to discuss my love of TripAdvisor. I "TripAdvisor" (as I say) everything. I even look up restaurants in my town! I love to read people's honest reviews, and I often find out about places that I didn't even know existed. Lots of times this is because the establishment may not pay to do much advertising, and in some cases it's only word of mouth. You can find reviews and advice on everything from hotels and resorts to restaurants and attractions. I always look at other TripAdvisor members photos to get a taste of what a place is really like. I've also been known to look up restaurant certificates on Restaurant.com and then read the reviews on TripAdvisor before buying the certificate. (pretty crunchy, huh?!)

Before my honeymoon I "TripAdvisored" activities in the Dominican Republic, and found out about a horseback riding place that charged less than half the price that the resort was charging. Not to mention other insider info (like killer happy hour specials at some of the local joints). ;-)

Also, don't be afraid to ask questions or ask for advice in the forums.

Someone will reply & help you out. Be sure to become a member (for FREE, of course!) of TripAdvisor.

There really are so many ways to save on a vacation. 
It just takes a bit of planning and researching.
